The Build - Part Three - Lots of toys!

Over the last few weeks all sorts of goodies have been arriving from EBay.  Along with a trip to the 4WD superstore, we now have almost all the bits and pieces to complete the van’s fit out. Included in our recent purchases are a fridge, BBQ, awning, portable shower, fan, led lights, lockable surfboard tie downs and even a kitchen sink.

This weekend Quiddy and I installed the pull out awning by attaching it to the roof rack.  Quiddy was a tremendous help by perching himself on the roof and tightening up the many hard to access bolts.   He also figured out how to repair a cross threaded bolt.  Seriously ... great job Quidstar !!

The Build - Part Two - Construction.

A full weekends work saw the bed platforms and storage areas constructed. Quiddy learned how to use a power saw and drill. Dan freaked when she saw the safety shoes worn by him. Or lack there of !!!!! A couple of foam mattresses from Clark rubber finished off the sleeping area. Next we tackle installing an off the grid power system to run the fridge, lights and to keep our devices charged.

The Build - Part One - Planning

So the plan is to build a raised platform for two beds on top and storage underneath.. Some 19 mm ply should do the job.  Simples !!!
