I think we will have a quiet night in tonight !!!!
Steve Biddulph has a lot to answer for! Inspired by Steve’s book Raising Boys, here is a boy on the verge of manhood, a man who never really grew up, a Mitsubishi van that’s seen better days, two surfboards and a dream. They say the most amazing thing you can give your kids is your time. This Summer father and son will hit the road for what is most definitely not about the destination. It’s all about the journey.

Day 7 - Bateman’s Bay... A treacherous road.
A short 1.5 hrs drive to Bateman’s Bay this morning then spent most of the day surfing and playing on the beach. Bateman’s Bay is packed this time of year so we have opted for another free campsite on the Clyde river. Halfway along the track we were flagged down by a couple of Swedish, Dutch Danish or Germans in an identical van to us. They were heading out of where we were heading into as they had changes their minds. Reason being ( from what we could understand!!!!) was that the track was too steep and rough and they were worried about being able to get out in the morning due to the stom making the road sloppy. Who knew what they were babbling about !!!! A stom ??? What the hell is a stom ??? We thanked them for their advice and pushed on. After all we have Vanie Mc Van Face!!!! A few hundred yards down the road the first lighting strike lite up the sky.... ohhh now I get it ... a thunder stom will make the road slippy. Probably could have worked that out but ..... we have Vanie Mc Van Face. Hopefully these are not my famous last words..... anyway I am sure Bateman’s Bay has some sort of off road recovery service.... (that of course we won’t need).
