A day out in Byron Bay with two special girls (and a snake!)

Not too much to post on for the last few days as we have just been bumming around Byron Bay.  But today was pretty special.  First I had some one on one time with Scar, Horseriding and then with Dan exploring some of Byrons outer lying beaches.

Scar and I booked a 1.5 hour Forrest Ride with Zephyr  Horse Ranch.  Unfortunately the beach rides were all booked so we had to settle for a forest ride.  It turned out pretty great actually and I would highly recommend them for anyone keen for a ride around Byron Bay.  Scarlett rode a Brumby named Ziggy that was found wild in outback Queensland a few years ago. He was feisty with attitude, which was perfect for the Scar.  My horse was a gentle Clydesdale called Zola who Chris Helmsworth has apparently ridden a few times and has tried to buy for himself, but Zephyr wouldn’t part with her. We had an absolute ball with Scarlett showing off her skills from all those riding lessons.  When it came time to pick up the pace, Scar and Ziggy rounded up the whole pack as she cantered professionally up the track.  I was very proud.

Later that arvo Dan and I snuck out for a bit of a cruise in Vanie MC Van Face to checkout some of Byron’s other beaches. At our first stop I locked the keys inside, requiring a trip up to Vanies roof where a spare is stashed in a key safe.  I have been on Vanies roof a few times during the Build process with no problem, but always had the advantage of the doors being open to use the wheel arches as a step.  However funnily enough when you lock your keys in your car (or in this case van) the doors are all closed!!! Anyway,  turns out Dan is quite a strong (and resourceful) woman in more ways than one.  She was  able to boost me up on the roof to retrieve  Vannie’s spare key.

When we did actually get down to the beach we found a crowd of people gathered around a sea snake that had decided to sunbath in the beach we will be surfing at tomorrow (the Pass). Jock please identify and advise how venomous this sucker is. The Pass has an awesome point break that I am very keen to surf tomorrow.  Snakes or not.
