Day 16 - We Made It !!!!

We rolled into Byron this arvo and stopped at the first souvenir shop to purschase a Byron Bay sticker to add to Vanie’s collection.  We have missed so many along the way as stickers don’t seem as popular as they used to.  But Byron was not one we were going to miss out on so I got two !!! A quick stop at Aldi and the bottle O for supplies and then off to the Apartment just in time to unload Vanie and mess the place up before Dan and Scar arrived on the shuttle from Ballina airport.

And now a week of pretty much doin nothin.  Beach, surfing, eating/shopping in town and relaxing in the apartment. We are a 5 minute walk into town and a 10 minute walk to the beach. Oh yeah and there is a resident lizard that lives in the backyard.  We have named him Chow Chow (after the Lama in my living room song).  I could probably research and tell you what kind of lizard Chow Chow is,  but that’s why we have Jock !!!

And on the topic of wildlife,  last night we woke to find a St Andrew’s cross spider had made a home of Vanie Mc Van-Face,  thankfully on the outside of our mozzie netting. Spidie was relocated to a better place (by my shoe).

I should also mention that day before yesterday Whilst trying to avoid the Pacific Hwy, we came across the iconic “giant Prawn” just outside of Coff’s Harbour, sadley perched on the edge of a Bunnings Carpark. What a sad ending for this once proud decapod crustacean.
